The radiator needed examining, cleaning and paint. I knew that the car ran fairly cool, and that the radiator didn't leak. I decided it was worth the risk to cosmetically restore so I would have a baseline on my cooling. I also needed to fix the drain cock, and I wanted to get an original piece.
