Distributor cap wires in place.JPG - Distributor, cap, wires and plugs in place. Champion L86C gapped to .025. I have the 1/2 inch reach head. The position of the distributor can vary. I chose this position, with the plate assembly nut forward, and number one at nine o'clock after looking at several pictures in books. The distributor rotates CCW. Unfortunately, if the tach reduction box rotates it can take the cable right into the contact breaker wire. I since discovered that my generator is from a Sprite, which has flat spade connectors and shorter mounting threads for the reduction box. Adding a rubber washer to the tach reduction box mount fiting has made the location of the reduction box more secure.
