  cleaned sump pickup.JPG - Oil pick up cleaned. The pickup feeds through the side of the oil sump up to the block through a hole in the flange of the oil sump. The mating surface for the pickup needs to be flat, and the gasket carefully installed to assure that the pump doesn't try to suck air and the gasket doesn't obstruct the pickup tube.
