  rear seal top half.JPG - Rear Seal as Installed. The archimedes screw constantly feeds the oil (which is trying to escape) back into the sump. Once the engine (and the screw on the crankshaft) stops, a small drip will form. The rear plate must be fit carefully. I've read that the clearance you want is one oil molecule thick... an exageration, but I'm going to try.
