  Distributer Ground wire.jpg - Distributor ground wire. I found out from the MG TD forum that earlier TDs have a shouldered bolt to allow the distributor clamp to float. This can make the ground intermittent, and cause a miss at speed. The solution (and it was on my engine originally, I just forgot to look at my pictures) was to ground the adjusting screw on the generator bracket.
